Everyone wants the clearest, the most youthful, the most flawless skin. But no one wants to learn about their skin. That's where I come in, so that you don't have to do the hard work. I've done the research, I know the products, I've spent years studying skin just like yours, and I want to help you fall in love with your skin.
What if we just wanted our skin to be as skin-like as possible? What if the goal wasn’t to have the most perfect skin, but to have the most perfect love for our skin? The Skinest is not a promise for perfect skin, but a promise to help you achieve your skincare goals, while learning to love the skin you're in.
I specialize in curating routines around the individual. This means that your diet, lifestyle and health all play a part in having your best skin. While I have worked with all skin-types, my specialities lie in aging, acne-prone, rosacea-prone and hypersensitive skin. I want each client I encounter to have better skin, but more importantly, to have new found beliefs about themselves and their skin. We all have pores, texture, inconsistency in pigment, etc. That’s what skin looks like! And it’s beautiful! I believe that God created each of us to have infinite dignity, value and worth and that we deserve to feel that each day, to see it implemented in our lives each day. Tap into the nest of knowledge and your best skin.
Over the course of the last 4 years, I have had the opportunity to have thousands of interaction with hundreds of clients, helping women to build confidence and self-love.
While my love affair with beauty dates back to the purchase of my first lipstick at 6 years old, I began working in the industry in 2016. My first three years were spent working for a small clean beauty retailer where I managed, oversaw shipping, and vetted products for consideration to be carried by our company. I met some of your favorite indie brand founders and accrued a massive amount of knowledge as I blogged alongside my job.
In that same year, I began the beta-testing of my own product line. Realizing that this was an industry I wanted to be in, and that the calling on my life was to be in wellness, I diligently worked on my formulation for the next two years. In 2018 I soft launched my line, i.n.k. Organics with a luxury shave cream and bath salt sachets (shave mousse available here.)
After graduating from the University of Colorado in 2018, I began pursing a certification in herbalism, and quickly realized I needed to go back to the drawing board for my skincare line in early 2019. In 2020 I worked a brief stint in Korean Beauty for a company with a very stringent training program, over the course of the 6 months I was there, I was required to master knowledge about each product line, and learn hundreds of new ingredients previously unfamiliar to me.
I like to say that the bible verse of my life is Esther 4:14 "...And who knows but that you have come to your royal position for such a time as this?" When Covid-19 hit, we began to seek normalcy in new ways. I found myself craving the connections I had built with clients, amongst so much strife, I wanted to bring to people the community that perhaps they were seeking as much as I was. I wanted to create community and connection "for such a time as this." These services aren't just about improving your skin, and while that's most certainly a huge part it, its also about gratitude in the now. It's about respect and appreciation for the bodies that God has given us, imperfect though they may be. It's about bridging the gap between wellness, the love we have for ourselves, and the love Christ has for us.
My years of training, successes and failures have given me a unique set of qualifications. I have worked with skin of all colors, ages and types. I am a firm believer that the God of the universe provided us with everything that we need, and that the products that you put on your body should be both fun and safe. I am also a believer that that same God did not create the universe in a day, and neither will beautiful skin be created in a day. Expensive products don't make for perfect skin, nothing does. But time, dedication, a willingness for lifestyle change, and great products make for beauty inside and out. I'm here to help my clients have their best skin and live their most fulfilled lives, through diet, products and relationship. This is not a sprint, its a marathon, one that I want to run all the way with you! I am on a mission to bridge the gap between love and wellness, one face at a time.
The above Chinese Proverb embodies the idea of what The Skinest wants to give back to the community as a whole.
The people in our society that are amongst the least knowledgeable, also have the least access, and are the most impoverished. Having access and use of this community, my knowledge and clean products has been a privileged. But we are aiming to change this. Health is a basic human right. Wellness is a basic human right. Safe products with high efficacy, also a basic human right.
10% of our proceeds will always go putting education back into the communities that need them most.
A six week course that will cover the fundamentals of organic eating, label reading, and safe and sustainable products is under way. This course will available to school programs (online, after school, extracurricular, etc) and recreational centers in the lowest income neighborhoods of Denver, and eventually expanding out.
Every product you purchase helps the progression of this program.
